US DV LOTTERY 2023
US DV Lottery 2023: The Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky, has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2023 diversity lottery. The Diversity Lottery Program was conducted under the terms of section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes available up to 55,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
Approximately 119,262 applicants have been registered and notified and may now make an application for an immigrant visa. Since likely, some of the first 55,000 persons registered will not pursue their cases for visa issuance, this more significant figure should ensure that all US DV Lottery 2023 numbers will be used during the fiscal year 2023 (October 1, 2022, until September 30, 2023).
If you haven’t applied for this year’s Diversity Immigrant Visa Program in 2023, please submit your application as soon as possible for the upcoming DV-2024 Green Card Program in the United States of America.

US DV LOTTERY 2023
US DV Lottery 2023: Administered by the U.S. Department of State, the Diversity Visa Program, also referred to as the Diversity Visa “Lottery”, is offered each year. Individuals have to submit an “entry” via an online registration during a one-month window (usually between October-November) for consideration to be selected for the opportunity to apply for immigrant status in the U.S.
International students can enter the Diversity Visa Lottery, and guidance in the past from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have indicated that simply submitting an entry does not constitute an individual demonstrating “immigrant intent” to the U.S. — which may make an individual no longer eligible to enter the U.S.
in non-immigrant status (including F-1 or J-1 student status, or as a B-1/B-2 tourist status, which are nonimmigrant visa types).

However, US DV Lottery 2023 if an individual is selected in the lottery to submit an immigrant visa application, if the individual moves forward and submits the immigrant application then they have demonstrated an intent to immigrate to the U.S. and would potentially impact their ability to apply for and/or obtain a nonimmigrant visa status.
Applicants who do not meet the education requirement must meet the work experience requirement of two years of experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience within the five-year period immediately prior to application.

DV LOTTERY REQUIRMENTS 2023
To enter the DV Lottery, you must be born in a qualifying country
To enter the DV2025 Lottery, you must be born in a country with a low immigration rate to the United States. If you are born in a country with a high immigration rate to the United States, you are excluded from entering the DV Lottery. If you are born in one of the countries in the table below, then you are currently excluded from entering the DV Lottery.
Please note that eligibility for the DV2025 Lottery is determined by the country of your birth. The most common misperception in qualifying for the DV Lottery program is that eligibility is based on country of citizenship or current residence, which is incorrect.
US DV Lottery 2023, There were two changes this year in the list of eligible countries and that was that people born in Honduras and Hong Kong SAR are no longer eligible to enter the DV2025 lottery.
US DV LOTTERY REGISTRATION
Take the green card test to determine if you qualify. Please enter the following information: The United States government issues 55,000 Green Cards every year through the Diversity Visa Program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery. Applicants are selected by a random computer generated drawing.

If you are born in one of the countries in the following table, then you are excluded from entering the DV2025 Lottery | ||||
Bangladesh | Brazil | Canada | China (Including Hong Kong SAR) | Colombia |
Dominican Republic | El Salvador | Haiti | Honduras | India |
Jamaica | Nigeria | Mexico | Pakistan | Philippines |
South Korea | United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) | Venezuela | Vietnam |
Note, that the United Kingdom includes the following dependent areas: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands. Note, natives born in Northern Ireland do qualify to enter the DV Lottery.
US DV Lottery 2023 for Persons born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt for the DV Lottery this year.
Persons born in Macau SAR, and Taiwan are also eligible to enter the DV2025 Lottery.
US DV Lottery 2023 Natives from all other countries may register for this year’s DV Lottery, the DV2025 Lottery.
IF YOU WERE BORN IN A NON-QUALIFYING COUNTRY YOU MAY STILL QUALIFY
If your spouse or one of your parents was born in a qualifying country, you may still be able to participate in the DV Lottery based on the country of birth of your spouse or one of your parents:
For example, if you were born in a country whose natives are ineligible to enter the DV Lottery, but your spouse was born in a country whose natives are eligible to enter the DV Lottery, you may claim your spouse’s country of birth as your country of eligibility, i.e.
US DV Lottery 2023, you may claim charge ability to the country where your derivative spouse was born, provided that both you and your spouse are on the selected DV Lottery application, but you will not be issued a DV Lottery green card unless
- your spouse is also eligible for and issued a DV Lottery green card,
- and both of you must enter the United States of America together with the DV Lottery green card.
Example: If you were born in Canada, whose natives currently are not eligible to enter the DV Lottery, but your spouse was born in Italy, whose natives are eligible to enter the DV lottery, you can claim your spouse’s country of birth (Italy) as your country of eligibility, as long as, you include your spouse on your DV Lottery application.
In a similar manner, a minor dependent child can be “charged” to a parent’s country of birth.
Finally, if you were born in a country that is not eligible to participate in this year’s DV Lottery program (DV2025), you can be “charged” to the country that either of your parents was born in as long as neither parent was a resident of your country of birth at the time of your birth.
For example, your parents might have lived temporarily in the ineligible country that you were born in because of their jobs. In general, people are not considered residents of a country in which they were not born or legally naturalized in if they are only visiting the country, studying in the country temporarily, or stationed in the country for business or professional reasons on behalf of a company or government.
If you claim alternate chargeability, you must indicate such information under the country of charge ability on the DV Lottery entry form that you must complete after you have registered successfully. Please be aware that listing an incorrect country of eligibility or chargeability (i.e. one to which you cannot establish a valid claim) may disqualify your DV Lottery entry.
